MY EMPTY MILAN
March 2020
No words are needed to express the feelings of an empty city. From thousands of people around the streets, crowded trains, bar, restaurants and stations, to the real emptiness. Central station suddenly closed, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and Duomo silent. It was shocking and sad. From being free, to being trapped, in a matter of hours.
I spent the very first months of 2020 covid lockdown on my own, in my apartment in Milan. I could go out quickly only to buy some food and have a quick walk. I remember I took my camera on a Saturday and decided to immortalize that emptiness. I did not have the courage to publish the pictures until now, September 2022.
